Metatron's cube - An illusion?

I was exploring the metatrons cube in 3D, and i discovered that the pattern can be archived with 5 pyramids shapes, and rotating them on 6 sides.

this method suggests that the platonic solids seen in the matatrons cube is just an illusion?
